I awoke this morning to what sounded like thunder. Crumbs, I thought, just a day or 2 into the holiday and it’s raining all ready. When I retracted the shutters, I found bright sunshine - and wind – about 80km/hr wind – and some HUGE waves breaking on the shore. Every break sounds like the roar of thunder. The wind and waves have continued all day, and as I sit here at dusk, writing, they show no sign of stopping!
Last night we treated ourselves to Vesuvio’s pizza, one of our favourites. I had the Pizza Campione (ground beef, onions, olives, oregano and an egg – don’t knock it until you’ve tried it, it’s DELICIOUS!) and Paul had the Diablo (Peppers, hot capicolo and olives).
When we returned to our apartment I snapped the night photo of the village from our balcony. So far, I’m really happy with my new digital camera!
Today we laid in a lot of groceries (we do a lot of cooking while we’re here) and had some soup for lunch, then Paul made chili for supper (quite delicious, too).
After a brisk afternoon nap, we went for a promenade up the mountain behind us, part way along the Garavan Boulevard, then took a chemin (a narrow, steep paved pathway exclusively for pedestrians) back down to the seaside and across to the apartment.
Tomorrow is brocante day in town – so I hope it doesn’t rain – I love poking around all the stalls and looking at all the stuff – you just never know what you’re going to find!

Today’s weather: Sunny, 21C and windy (80k/hr!), which did cool off that 21C temp!
Beautiful pics! Received my Panasonic DMC-ZS10 camera last night! Can't wait to try it out...in a much different setting than yours...I want you to make me that pizza when you get back okay? I'm salivating just looking at it...
ReplyDeleteI'd love to make that pizza - it's absolutely delicious and you can't get it at home. Hope you're having fun with your new camera - I'm really enjoying using it and it is quite versatile. Hope all is well at home!
